Automobile Engineering???
Kir’s vehicle didn’t start at all. So many kicks from Basheer and Kir. Still no reaction. Time was 9 pm. That too on Christmas day. I started to look for some mechanic shops. I could not locate anything for some distance. Sajan and Basheer went in opposite direction to locate one mechanic. Either shops are closed or the shop fellow is closing the shop and not interested in coming. Finally we three reached the place where Kir was trying to start his bike. Finally, one auto fellow after seeing us, stopped, came with tools. The way he handled the problem and provided a temporary solution ----- Practical Engineering can ever be matched. Even though we’ve studied automobile engineering as one subject, even though we know spark ignition works, still locating and troubleshooting a problem looks very distant. I do remember that we had a chapter on troubleshooting. I was just wondering, why I don’t find any interest in understanding my vehicle and try to solve on my own rather than depend on somebody. When I had automobile engineering as subject, I never knew how to ride a bike and also I was never interested in that. So, probably my interests were limited to academics alone. Today, me a production engineering graduate, Kir, Basheer and sajan are mechanical engineering graduates were looking for somebody to troubleshoot our vehicle. So let’s hope that we can soon apply ourselves to solve at least simple problems. Will it be possible? Spoiling our hands with oil? Dirty? Strain? Maybe I’ve become too lazy to try these things.
